Bernie’s at it again!
Coming fresh off of the MotoGP Daytona Party on March 18th hosted by Bernie himself and held at the Library Square Public House in Vancouver, where all the proceeds go to Balding for Dollars, Bernie is gearing up for another event this time up in Kelowna at the Laurel Packinghouse!
For those of you who don’t know about Bernie (and you really should), he is a pretty cool dude with perhaps a more unique story when it comes to Balding for Dollars and fundraising for a children’s cancer charity. Check out this awesome video to see why Bernie won “Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser” at the 2017 Giving Hearts Philanthropy Awards.
The event is Bands, BBQ, Beers & Balding. A night of good eats, drinks, music, head shaves, prizes & more! All proceeds will be split between Balding for Dollars and the KGH Foundation. Tickets are $30 which gets you your dinner and admission. Go here for more info on tickets and how you can get involved.
…And of course, if you can’t make the event, you can donate directly to Bernie Ryan’s page here!
We can’t wait to see how this years event goes. We anticipate a great turn out!
Last year’s Balding for Dollars event raised over $100,000. Over 500 family members, friends, and staff gathered at BC Children’s Hospital to shave their heads or cut-off their locks in support of kids with cancer and to enjoy the carnival atmosphere, which included live band, arts and crafts, a post shave photo area as well as an array of delicious goodies for the participants and supporters to enjoy.
Hundreds more supporters of this event shaved their heads in similar events that took place in Whistler, Squamish, Victoria and other Lower Mainland locations, contributing to a province-wide fundraising total of more than $200,000!
You can help us beat last year’s total by signing up to shave/cut your hair, or hosting your own event! Sign up for Balding for Dollars today and make a difference in the lives of kids affected by cancer!
We also are looking for volunteers for the main event day (and leading up to).
