École Kwantlen Park Secondary has been hosting Balding for Dollars cut & shave fundraisers for over 5 years now; organized through their student council group and supported by staff and the Balding for Dollars team.
Despite the global pandemic, they still managed to perservere and host, not one, but TWO fundraisers in 2020. One in April, and again in November to amp up what they could raise and get even more participants. They had 30 staff and students cut or shave their hair, and help raise funds for our programs.
Of course, due to restrictions at the time, we were limited in our ability to be there in-person, but everyone who participated still got our signature t-shirt and some other goodies, along with a personal thank you note following their events!
To date, Kwantlen Park has raised over $16,700.00 for Balding for Dollars that supports programs to help families in oncology at BC Children’s Hospital. We are so grateful for their continued support and look forward to a continued partnership with events each year. Hopefully we can all gather together again so we can proudly hand them their t-shirt ourselves!
