Research

blog-post-hero03The Childhood Cancer and Blood Research Program conducts research that improves the lives of children and young adults with cancer, blood and related disorders.

20% of all funds raised through Balding for Dollars helps to support exciting research projects happening directly on site. Childhood Cancer research is disproportionately underfunded compared to adult cancer research. In Canada only about 5% of all research related funding supports childhood cancers specifically, so we are very proud to be a small advocate to try and change that statistic.

The Childhood Cancer and Blood Research (CCBR) Program is a combined program of the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI), the Division of Pediatric Oncology/Hematology/BMT of the BC Children’s Hospital, and the University of British Columbia (UBC) with close collaboration with the research endeavors of the BC Cancer Agency (BCCA).
