Balding for Dollars relies heavily on the dedication and generosity of volunteers to make its events and programs possible. Apart from one part-time employee, the organization is driven by community members who donate their time and energy to support children and families affected by cancer. Volunteers are the backbone of Balding for Dollars event, ensuring every initiative is a success.

We are always looking for help in the months, weeks and days leading up to and on the day of our main event. The main areas where we require help are:

• Donation collection – canvas local businesses for donations of food, goods & services, or prizes for our raffle. If you have connections with a business that you would like to introduce to Balding for Dollars, we welcome and appreciate your introduction.
• Set up & take-down crew – help our team set up the evening before and immediately after the event.
• Event day operations – work at one of our booths on event day
• Photography & videography – each year we rely on volunteer artists to help us capture the special moments of the day
• Hairdressers & barbers – the highlight of our event wouldn’t be possible without the volunteer hairdressers and barbers who come out and make it possible.
• Event administration & coordination – there is a lot of planning that goes into our main event, and we welcome volunteers with proven event planning experience or those studying in event planning/management to apply to assist in this capacity.

To register your interest to volunteer at our 2025 main event, please double check your schedule before applying. The success of our event is dependent on the reliability of our volunteers. We understand that things come up that are out of our control, but last-minute cancellations are very stressful on everyone. If you are committed to taking part in our event, we’d love to have you on our team!
