On December 22, 2015, twenty-two of our oncology/hematology kids and their siblings had the amazing opportunity to spend a special night going behind the scenes after hours at the Vancouver Aquarium. Apart from the fish, we were the only ones in there!
The Aquarium staff were absolutely AMAZING and had planned a truly special night for us. We got to see all the exhibits up close, touch some really slimy things, paint a beautiful water scene for the hospital, sleep by the beluga whale and even get a good morning kiss from a seal!!
It was such a perfect way to start the winter break. Before bedtime we sang some Christmas songs which ended in a performance of “Let it Go” from Frozen by some very special little girls.
In the morning, just before leaving each child was also given a beautifully crocheted tuque. Princess Elsa for the girls and R2D2 for the boys!
THANK YOU Vancouver Aquarium for hosting our last Balding for Dollars Family Adventures event of 2015 and to everyone else who made this a night to remember for these children!
